Super Bowl XLVI Streaming Experience Falls Flat
The streaming of movies and TV programs from the internet is definitely increasing in popularity, and will someday be the main way we access entertainment on our TVs and home theater systems, but contrary to popular belief, that day is still not there quite yet as issues such as bandwidth, internet speed, and image qualitystill need to be fine tuned.

The prime example of problems associated with internet streaming were brought to the forefront in the recent first-time attempt to stream the Super Bowl. Poor image quality, and the lack of access to the commercials and Madonna's half-time performance, due to licensing issues, provided a less-than-optimum viewing experience for those that chose the streaming option for watching the Super Bowl. For a thorough analysis of the streamed version of Super Bowl XLVI, read the report from Streaming Media.

Best Buy Drops Hints on Forthcoming Apple Powered LCD TV
Has Best Buyspilled the beans on Apple's forthcoming entry into the LCD TV market - or is it hyping vaporware?

In an interesting development, Best Buy has been sending out a survey to find out if their regular customers would consider the purchase of a 42-inch Apple-branded LED/LCD TV (iTV?) for $1,499.

Some of the "teased"information about the possible Apple iTV (?) is that it will incorporate the iOS operating system, be fully integrated with iCloud functions, and can be controlled by either an iPhoneor iPad.

While I find this very interesting, if it is accurate information, is that the previous rumors(some of which were circulating during the most recent CES) that Apple's forthcoming TV was going to be a potential 55-inch OLEDset sourced from LG priced at $5,000 plus, may not actually be the case, at least initially.

However, with today's bargain basement pricing on TVs, even a 42-inch LED/LCD TV priced at $1,499 is kind of steep - especially when you consider that there are already a lot of internet-enabled TVsthat offer similar functions that Apple might bring to the table, and once the Apple set comes to market, you can bet that Smart TV makers, such as Samsung and LG, will step up to the plate and add new features and pricing to counter Apple.

As of the posting date of this blog entry, Apple hasn't provided any of its own information. However, stay tuned as more info becomes available.

UPDATE:Best Buy Backs Off On Apple iTV Survey - Sort Of (Wired).
